Modern Optimal Controllers for Hybrid Active Power Filter to Minimize Harmonic Distortion

Nowadays, AC distributed power networks are facing many challenges in guaranteeing and improving the required level of quality indices with increasing nonlinear, time-variable unbalanced loads. Power can benefit from avoiding minimizing different problems, such as frequency fluctuation Total Harmonic Distortions (THDs), by using filters, Hybrid Active Filters (HAPFs). Therefore, attention towards responsible indices, Distortion (THD), Factor (P.F) Pollution (HP) has increased. THD HP important to show at network. In this paper, modern optimization techniques have been employed optimize HAPF parameters, minimize HP, a nature-inspired algorithm, namely, Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA). The WOA algorithm is compared most competitive powerful metaheuristic algorithms: Manta Ray Foraging (MRFO), Artificial Ecosystem-based (AEO) Golden Ratio Method (GROM). addition, WOA, proposed algorithms, for literature, called L-SHADE. comparison results that outperformed all other terms harmonic pollution, through optimizing parameters HAPF; therefore, paper aims present control model HAPF.
